Scholarships & Bursaries

Scholarships At Year 7

Our Senior Scholarships Programme is open to girls wishing to join our Senior School in Year 7, or pupils transitioning from Year 6 of our Prep School to start in Year 7 in the next academic year. We offer Academic Scholarships and Scholarship Awards in Art, Drama, Music and Sport. Girls may apply for one or more Scholarship Awards.

Year 7 (11+) Scholarships – How And When To Apply

The deadline for Academic Scholarship applications was Thursday 31 October 2024.

Applications for Non-Academic Scholarships from external and internal applicants must be received by Friday 10 January 2025. Our Year 7 Experience Day and Assessment Day is held in November.

For subsequent years, the application deadline for Year 7 entry and Academic Scholarships will be 31 October.

Bursaries

Manor House School has a long history of providing financial assistance to pupils and families in need and the resultant diversity in pupil population is seen by the School as an important component of a full and balanced education.

Means tested bursaries are awarded on an annual basis and may include a small amount to assist with additional costs such as uniform, where appropriate. Manor House School remains committed to the aim of providing public benefit in accordance with its founding principles and legislative requirements.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A BURSARY?

You are eligible to apply for a bursary if you are considering sending your child to the School and they have been through the application process and successfully been offered a School place.  You will also be eligible if your child is already at the school but your family circumstances have changed and you find the fees are no longer affordable.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A BURSARY?

You must complete a financial circumstances form and upload your supporting documents on our secure online portal hosted by ITQ Metis by the 1 November of the previous Year of Entry. For Example, if you wish to apply for a place for the Academic Year 2025/26, you must submit all your documents by 1 November 2024.

HOW IS IT DETERMINED WHO IS OFFERED A BURSARY?

All applications for bursaries are means tested using primarily the financial information provided in the application form however all prospective pupils are required to comply with the School’s normal entry requirements and be offered a place.

If you feel your daughter would benefit from an education at Manor House School and that she would be able to contribute to school life but the school fees are beyond your means, please contact bursaries@effinghamschools.org for more information.
