On Monday 16th April the Target Shooting School had its inaugural session at Manor House School.

A number of students (and their parents) from Years 6 to Year 9 tried their hand at shooting for the first time and there were some very impressive results! The instructors started with a safety briefing and a beginners guide to handling and firing an air rifle. The girls then had a go themselves. Despite some early nerves the girls settled in to demonstrate what a keen eye and a steady hand they have.

As the session progressed some pupils tried shooting from a standing position (rather than sitting) - which is much harder to do. They also tested themselves with pistol shooting. There was a little competition between the parents and their daughters but we won't give the game away about who did best!

The atmosphere was lovely and we would like to thank all the girls for their positive approach to a new challenge and the encouraging feedback afterwards. We hope that they will all continue to attend and improve their technique over the coming weeks.

Girls (aged 10 or over) who were unable to attend this session but would like to come along next week should please contact Miss Gall at email: kgall@manorhouseschool.org  who will pass their details to the Target Shooting School.
